Pontikonisi Island
Occupying a prime position, our hotel in Corfu is within walking distance from Kanoni area, the Pontikonisi (or mouse island) and the Achillion Palace in Gastouri. Next to our hotel you will find a private beach surrounded by undulating hills that stand like a sentinel on the far horizon where you can enjoy your swim in the beautiful sea overlooking the mouse island. This small island, symbol of Corfu and the second most highly photographed part of Greece, after the Parthenon in Athens, is just 300 meters away.
Gerald Durrell
In this area, the famous marine biologist Gerald Durrell first encountered the rich marine underwater life of Corfu, where he discovered uncovered aquatic species. Gerald Durrell lived at the Strawberry house next to our hotel and was a family friend. He loved the sunrise and he used to say that it was the most beautiful sunrise he had ever seen. In our hotel restaurant he ate quite often and we remember him chatting with our father.About Kanoni
Walk from the special corridor that connects our hotel at the Perama area with the Kanoni area. In just 3 minutes walk you will be in the opposite side. In the middle of this route you can stop and see the airplanes just 70 meters above your head! In summer, especially at sunset, this place is the favourite spot of many tourists. On the opposite bank you will find the area of Kanoni. There you can enjoy your coffee in one of the unique cafes in the area.
Mon Repo
Take advantage of the proximity to our hotel and get to Mon Repo. The palace of Princess Sissy which later became the summer residence of the former royal family of Greece and which is now a wonderful park with unique vegetation and a special beach, Kardaki. In Kanoni you can also visit the monastery of Virgin Mary Kassopitra. It has been located in the same place since 1850 and many Corfiots prefer it for the Sunday service and also for the Easter week.Achillion Museum
Nearby, 3 km from our hotel, you can visit Achillion. This unique in construction palace dedicated to the ancient Greek Achilles, was built in 1890 by Italian architects. It was the summer residence of Queen Sissy from Austria. There you will be able to see a wonderful garden with the unique nine muses, the statue of Achilles and the unique view of the island. Inside the mansion you will see murals and decorations by important artists of the 18th century. Take advantage of the proximity to our hotel and visit Achillion on foot or by car.
