The cafeteria’s unique balcony, just above the clear blue sea, is where our family friend and author, Gerald Durrell, drank his ouzo. There you will be able to enjoy freshly squeezed juices, ice creams, appetizers, ouzo, tsipouro and fine wines. You will also find a selection of hot and cold drinks, salads, light meals, fresh seafood and traditional homemade Corfiot specialties that will provide you with unique gastronomic moments accompanied by the incomparable view. The small beach of our hotel is situated across the road, passing our cafe and going down a few steps. The crystal clear blue waters are protected by Natura 2000*.

The unique underwater valleys and reefs charmed the great naturalist Gerald Durrell who lived in the Strawberry-Pink Villa 200 meters away from the Hotel Aigli. Our private hotel beach can be the base for swimming and for discovering your own little sea surprises around Pontikonissi, the Monastery of Vlacherina or Mon Repo. Our Traditional Hotel is an ideal location to discover Corfu as it is situated in the center of the Island. It makes it ideal beginning for daily discoveries either by private car, bicycle or motorbike. Organised excursions and small cruises to Paxos, Parga and neighboring Albania can all start at your door! Paleokastritsa, Glyfada, Sidari, Kassiopi, Nissaki, Issos, Boukari and Benitses are waiting for you to discover them.

The stop of the local bus service (KTEL) is just outside the Hotel. It can take you, with very little financial cost, to all the beaches of Corfu and also to Corfu Town which is only 7km away. You can also rent your own motor boat or kayak for your own unique excursions along the East Coast either towards the Kaiser Bridge, the fishing village Benitses and the small beaches of these areas or to Mon Repo and the unique town of Corfu. The suggested walking routes lead you to Achillion Palace, the traditional village of Gastouri, Agia Kyriaki, Pikoulatika, Benitses, Kanoni, the Unique Monastery of Kassopitra and across the causeway to Kanoni and to Mon Repo which was the summer palace of the former Royal Family of Greece and the birthplace of Prince Philip of Great Britain.

Corfu Town, with its Venetian architecture, the famous narrow streets (Kantounia) and the well preserved fortress is a protected and listed UNESCO world heritage sight. You can finish your day with a stroll and an evening drink along the world famous Liston and Spianada Square (the largest square in Greece). We, at Hotel Aegli, are ready to embrace you with the warmest Corfiot hospitality. We work with companies for skiing on the sea, to rent boats for bicycles, but also for cruises in Paxos and the wonderful Sivota.
